Our work in Essex

14 Headgate is a red-brick former office building around a central courtyard, close to Colchester town centre, converted into 44 flats. We fitted around 100 aluminium window frames with astragal (Georgian) bars across the ground and first floors and up into the roof dormers, plus the commercial entrance doors and escape doors.

Closer to London, 1-5 Western Road in Romford, on the Essex side of London, was two new floors with 10 apartments on an existing brick block.

Period buildings and town centres

Many Essex town centres have older brick buildings and conservation areas, where the planning consent can specify the colour, glazing bars or the look of the frames. Headgate is a good example: Georgian bars on modern aluminium windows to suit a traditional building. We read the consent and conditions before pricing so the windows we quote are the windows the council will accept.
